The demand for manpower labor in India has grown exponentially because of increasing factories and industries, Which has resulted in the rise of numerous jobs in technical sectors. This all has made technical education necessary for industries and factories. The diploma level of technical education in the field is known with the name of ITI.

ITIs were first started in 1969 and the aim was to promote industrialization in India. The Industrial Training Institutes, or ITIs, have been constituted by the Government of India and come under the purview of the Ministry of Labour. The largest number of jobs in industries and factories is based on ITI courses. These courses help the worker to handle big machines in industry or in the factory. To begin with, there were only some conventional industrial openings like fitter, machinist, welder, turner, wireman, etc. in which training was provided. ITIs is a very cost-effective course. By graduating this course provides lots of technical knowledge and skills.

Why do we choose ITI?

The main aim of ITIs is to provide employment to the weaker in society. This course offers various skills to those who can’t afford the expensive training. ITI caters to the need of those who were unfortunate enough to not get a chance for higher education. That’s also a reason ITIs course’s minimum qualification for admission is metric, higher school or intermediate. It is also suitable for those who wanted to earn at an early age.

ITI is one of the vocational training institutes in India whose NCVT certificate is recognized throughout the world as it is certified by ILO (International Labour Organization). On the basis of this certificate, the worker can apply anywhere globally. The syllabus of different trades in ITI is designed keeping in mind the needs of different industries. The course provides accurate and detailed knowledge of trades where students learn how to operate, maintain machines and rectify their defects.

The timing for the study is also as per factory rules which is 8 hours. By help, of course, the factory doesn’t need to waste their time or money on workers. The benefits of this work-based policy are that after completing this training, the student easily adopts the atmosphere of the factory and is productive at work.

There is one more reason to choose ITI as a career is that the teaching of the medium is also optional and a student could take the exam in either English or Hindi. As we all know English is not our mother tongue, many people face problems in speaking English. So the barrier of language is no more a problem for the ITI students, there only matters the skills of the person.
